Cyclone offer: Choose to take back your old equipment
Our Cyclone IT equipment takeover offer stands out from the market. Practical, it consists of managing the decommissioning of a company’s entire unused IT equipment.
It therefore represents a real saving in time and money. How does this differ from the rest of the market? Why does Codeo offer this type of solution? With what customer guarantees?
Distinguishing ourselves from traditional IT trade-in solutions
The computer equipment trade-in is aimed at professionals who have renewed their computer fleet, or who have plans to do so. These companies have every interest in getting rid of their old equipment. Stocks of equipment do generate storage costs. It loses its value over time, and affects the company’s carbon footprint.
To address these issues, there are a number of different options available to companies for taking back IT equipment.
The classic solution is to use a professional IT refurbisher. The latter will opt for a case-by-case method:
- The service provider comes to your office and assesses the marketability of your old IT equipment.
- It is also possible that the service provider will only be interested in equipment of certain brands or connection types.
- This pre-selection leads to an audit, where the service provider assesses the working order of the equipment and its functioning. It is this audit that determines the purchase price of what the provider recovers. In this way, the service provider usually collects one to three pallets of equipment.
In this configuration, you keep some of your old equipment. The problem of its storage and ageing is therefore not completely resolved. You are therefore responsible for managing the rest of the stock.
You can contact specialised recycling structures. However, these structures require prior sorting to send the right material to the right establishment. This is a time-consuming procedure and your equipment is not recycled.
You can also opt to donate computer equipment to associations or schools, for example. However, this solution does not address the issue of equipment intended for professionals, such as payment terminals, barcode scanners or Point of Sale Terminals (POS).
What is different about our “Cyclone” asset recovery offer?
Codeo’s Cyclone offer aims to address all the drawbacks of a partial IT asset takeover:
- We manage all of your unused IT equipment, regardless of condition, brand or business;
- You do not need to sort out the equipment that is still working from that which is no longer working;
- We carry out an audit of all your equipment: a valuation of your equipment will be carried out by a team of experts.
- As no equipment remains in your premises, you no longer have time to sort and distribute the equipment that is not taken back;
- This offer frees you from several pallets of IT equipment.
With our expertise in a wide variety of IT ranges, we guarantee end-to-end logistics management. This “all-in-one” trade-in offer therefore represents a real time saving. It also saves you unnecessary storage costs. It is also a good solution to prevent your IT fleet from losing value over time.
What happens to your IT equipment in the case of a “Cyclone” decommissioning?
Once your equipment has been recovered, we process it in its entirety. We are committed to giving them all a second life, and to keeping you informed. As soon as it arrives at our premises, we follow this method:
- We record all the serial numbers to guarantee the traceability of your equipment;
- A first aesthetic audit shows us their more or less obsolete state;
- The functional audit evaluates the functioning of the equipment and its capacity to be reused;
- We consider different ways of recovery: reuse or recycling.
If dismantling is necessary, we use the equipment’s spare parts. These can be reconditioned and put to a new use. They can also be recycled by our network of partners, or donated to charity. In the case of recycling, we go through approved eco-organisations dedicated to waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE).
In all cases, we guarantee the traceability of your equipment throughout the value chain. We also ensure, of course, that personal and sensitive data is erased from all your equipment. We will be happy to discuss your IT trade-in project with you.
Why does Codeo stand out with its comprehensive IT takeover offer?
Codeo is a European IT trade-in professional. We have a logistical capacity of over 7,000 m2. This gives us the freedom to recover large volumes of equipment.
In addition, we have been renewing large ranges of IT equipment for over 15 years. This explains why we are not restricted to taking in certain types of equipment, or certain brands.
The equipment we take back includes inventory, point-of-sale and payment terminals, as well as computers and USB cables. We also deal with dozens of brands, from the most famous such as HP, Dell, Canon, Lenovo, Zebra, Honeywell or Ingenico to the lesser known.
What are the guarantees behind a comprehensive IT take-back offer such as the Cyclone formula?
The guarantees of this decommissioning offer cover four areas:
- Codeo offers a responsible service, imbued with social commitments. The reconditioning or recycling of your IT equipment is part of a concern to nurture the circular economy, reuse and social integration.
- The Cyclone offer is defined as a personalised formula. A team is dedicated to the takeover project. It is a permanent contact throughout the process and communicates regularly and transparently on the project’s progress. Each stage is detailed and is the subject of a clear and precise estimate.
- Your equipment is fully traceable. Their serial numbers are kept, while your data is deleted. This last measure is done in compliance with the General Regulation for the Protection of Personal Data, the RGPD.
- Our choices of reuse or recycling are subject to detailed reporting. You will receive a data erasure certificate. If you choose to reuse your IT equipment, we will also provide you with a carbon savings certificate. If you recycle, you will receive a certificate of destruction.
